Eponine tries to repress a laugh -- badly -- at nailing and banging, smirk all but bursting at the seams with it. Punning back and forth is one of her favorite things with Ellie, but it's even better when she can make her blush, too. She wishes sometimes she were a bit of an artist, like Ellie is, or wrote songs like the ones she sings, even: for she'd capture those moments she loves so much, the flush just before a laugh one of them for certain.

(But it's hers to tease onto Ellie's face, and that's more than she ever expected)

"I didn't even think about painting!" 'Ponine exclaims, brightening. "I don't know why I didn't," she adds wryly. "That's perfect."

She frowns at the pallets. It looks like a pretty simple construction, a sort of three-sided box with two pallets attached to a third at the back, and then a roof constructed of two by fours. "I think it might be easiest to do this with the back of it lying flat, so the whole thing has to be tipped up at the end, do you think? Instead of holding them at a corner?" She gestures. "Otherwise, if one of us moves while the other's..." she grins. "Drilling, or whatnot, the walls won't be straight."

"I don't think she'll mind, but it might look silly."
